WHAT KIND OF READER ARE YOU?

The Marathon Reader can’t put a book down. They want to read it through at one sitting if possible. Eager to find out what happens next, a marathon reader keeps going. An author’s favorite kind of reader.

The Mobile Reader takes a book everyone he or she goes. When they travel, sit in a waiting room, lounge by the pool or on the beach, you name it. Another favorite of authors.

The Dust Collector Reader picks up a book from time to time, so infrequently, they forget what has happened in the story and who the characters are. Authors frown on this type of reader.

The Distracted Reader attempts to read while their thoughts are on other things. They must go back and read a paragraph over again because they didn’t focus on it in the initial reading. Sometimes, they have stuff going on around them, such as the television playing, people talking, children running around.

The Me-Time Reader sees reading as their reward for a hard days’ work. This is their moment to relax and enjoy a good book. They are escaping the real world to travel to a different place in a different time with interesting characters.

The Sleepy Reader gets drowsy every time they pick up a book. They may get through a chapter but often do not. It takes them a long time to finish a book; however, they stick with it. I fall into this category. Do you?
